Bootstrap Publications Joins the 2025 Tahoe Literary Festival: “Ink and Identity—Telling Our Stories Our Way”

ree

Tahoe City, California — Bootstrap Publications, in our ongoing mission to publish impactful and meaningful works, is proud to announce our participation in the 2025 Tahoe Literary Festival. This year’s event will feature a thought-provoking panel discussion entitled “Ink and Identity: Telling Our Stories Our Way,” happening on October 11, 2025, from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at the SNOW Sports Stadium.

The panel brings together voices from across the Bootstrap Publications community, Miriam Dorsett, Founder of Bootstrap Publications and author of The Lion and The Elephant; Dr. Nicholas L. Baham III, author of The People’s Detective and respected cultural scholar; and CJ Spears, a dynamic new author with Bootstrap Publications, who will serve as the moderator for the conversation.

Together, they will explore how storytelling shapes identity, belonging, and cultural representation—particularly through independent and diverse publishing. Drawing on their experiences as authors, educators, and community builders, the discussion will highlight how voices from marginalized communities are reclaiming narratives through literature, art, and activism.

For Bootstrap Publications, each story is both resistance and remembrance—a way to honor truth through creativity. Similarly, the Tahoe Literary Festival is a space to continue that mission, giving writers the platform to speak boldly and authentically.

Key Highlights of the Panel

  • A conversation on authorship, authenticity, and the power of self-representation in publishing.

  • Insights from both established and emerging voices within the Bootstrap Publications family.

  • Exploration of how independent presses amplify diverse stories that might otherwise go unheard.
