MIDLIFE MUSICAL

When Karla signs her teenage daughter up for guitar lessons, she has no idea that the handsome young teacher will awaken long-dormant dreams. Although Karla’s daughter soon loses interest, Freddie invites Karla to continue to visit, eventually persuading her to share songs she has composed. Karla and Freddie’s blossoming friendship and musical collaboration soon threatens to upend Karla’s conventional life as a married real estate agent, wife and mother. As she gains confidence in her abilities, Karla must explore the value of dreams and challenge her own assumptions about what must be sacrificed in pursuit of art. Along the way, Karla discovers surprising secrets about her children, her husband, and her own character.
