On May 27th, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Carousel Club at Gulfstream, Hallandale Beach/FL, twenty co-authors will release a book titled “Immigrate? The joys and challenges of living in the USA” with a preface by Zilu Godoi who has confirmed her presence.
These Brazilian women gave voice to their stories of immigrating to the United States, sharing the difficulties and victories of the journey. They are mothers, wives, daughters, professionals … from different fields and backgrounds.
Some have continued to exercise their trades and others did not, due to some impediment, having to reinvent themselves, seek new goals, and adapt to their new lives. Today their joys and challenges impact society.
Our intention is to convey the message of how important it is for women to have sorority, and to maintain relationships of union, friendship, and affection, by sharing the same ideals and purposes. By taking action and finding their voices for themselves and others.
The open cocktail will feature the sale of books on site and all proceeds will go to the following non-profit institutions: Grupo Mulheres do Brasil do Sul da Florida-Committee to Combat Domestic Violence, Hope and Justice Foundation, and Alliance of Mercy/US. These institutions act in the US in the fight against domestic violence, human trafficking, child sexual abuse, and exploitation.
We’re looking forward to celebrating our lives and stories with you for a good cause.
Livro: “Imigrar? As alegrias e os desafios de morar nos EUA”
No dia 27 de maio das 4 as 8pm, no Carousel Club at Gulfstream, Hallandale Beach/FL, vinte coautoras irão lançar o livro intitulado “Imigrar? As alegrias e os desafios de morar nos EUA” com prefácio de Zilu Godoi que confirmou presença.
São brasileiras que contam suas histórias de migração para os Estados Unidos e compartilham as dificuldades e vitórias nessa caminhada. Essas mulheres são mães, esposas, filhas e profissionais de diversas áreas. Umas continuaram exercendo seus ofícios e outras não, por algum impedimento, e por isso tiveram que se reinventar e buscar novos objetivos se adaptando ao novo cenário e hoje suas atividades impactam a sociedade.
A intenção é passar a mensagem de quanto é importante que as mulheres tenham sororidade, mantendo relações de união, amizade, afeto, ao compartilhar dos mesmos ideais e propósitos.
O open coquetel contará com a venda dos livros no local e toda a renda será revertida para instituições sem fins lucrativos, Grupo Mulheres do Brasil do Sul da Flórida-Comitê de Combate à Violência Doméstica, Hope and Justice Foundation e Allience of Mercy/US que atuam nos EUA nas causas do enfrentamento à violência doméstica, tráfico humano, abuso e exploração sexual infantil.
